Which of these computers will provide me with better gaming performance?

Question by rockethot: Which of these computers will provide me with better gaming performance?
Here are the 2 configurations:

First Config:

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-2600K 3.40 GHz 8M Intel Smart Cache LGA1155 (All Venom OC Certified)
HDD: 1TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Hard Drive)
MEMORY: 4GB (2GBx2) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Module (Corsair or Major Brand)
MOTHERBOARD: [CrossFireX] Asus P8P67-M Intel P67 Chipset DDR3 mATX Mainboard w/ UEFI, 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, USB3.0, 2x SATA-III RAID, 2 Gen2 PCIe, 1 PCIe x1 & 1 PCI [B3 Stepping]

Second Config:

The first one has a better cpu the second has more memory.
IMO i would go for the first one. It has a much better cpu and its worth it.

    Either one of these machines will scream and play any game at the highest frame rate at max settings.

    Its like comparing a ferrari to a Mazarti or a Porsche.. All really fast. You would not tell difference in performance without a benchmark program to tell you that you will get 150 frames per sec.( AMD six core) frames instead 155 frames (Intel i70. FYI a smooth frame rate is minimum 24 – 30 frames per sec.

    performance in gaming would be very similar. the first one does have the faster CPU, but i also suspect costs about 150$ more.

    so if you put the money saved from the AMD system into a better video card it would be much better.

    Either of these will be able to playing anything at 100% anyways
