I remember there being a lot of complaints by people who used this board regarding the interference of GPUs and nearby sound cards. Does anyone here have advice/experience regarding proper placement of duel GPUs and an ASUS Xonar Essence card? Everything else about this board appeals to me. But, if I can’t safely use my good sound card and have a CrossFire setup, then what’s the point?

this is the only overclock amd motherboard that really WORKS, due to the extreme northbridge overheating of all 990fx based boards this is the only board i found that doesnt crash for northbridge overheating under medium/high daily overclock, this is just a perfect piece of hardware. just buy it, worths every cent.

I ordered this yesterday for my FX-8350. I’m building a PC and I’m going to order an EVGA GeForce FTX 660 TI next.

The 3980x is just a bit overclocked version of the 3960x.
If you buy a Ferrari or whatever, you don’t look at the price, because it’s an extreme car.
    Peace out.

Ahy, swearing, Either some middle class white boy or English as a second language?

The highest performing isn’t usually Intel’s Flag, previously the 2700K was “the one”, Extreme Ed are just that, extreme.

    But okay, I’ll play along.
How about the 3960X only provides +39% for a cost of 770% more?
Or how about I just point out that the 3960 isn’t even the most powerful Intel processor – the 3970X is, or the soon to be released 3980X?!
If you’re going to correct someone be correct yourself.

Wow, you must be psychic or some shit. Your point falls because the 3770k is not the highest end desktop CPU from Intel.
    BTW, it’s manga, not anime.

You know, as soon as I hit enter I knew someone would say that, I knew it would be someone with a anime avatar and I knew it would start with “Um”.

My terminology is off but my point stands.

Uhm, the current flagship from intel in the i7 3960x extreme, not the 3770k. The 3770k is their mid-high stuff.

open box @ 135 on the egg, i just got one. compared to gigabyte ga-990fxa ud7 or the asus crosshair v series, I don’t need quad sli so dual x16 is fine for me, putting an fx 8350 in this, rev 2 has the uefi updates for the 2nd gen fx chips

what do you think about the combination of an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX Motherboard R2.0, Corsair Vengeance 8GB ram, EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB and the AMD FX 6200 6-Core Processor?

It’s all about pref. Yes, this would be a good board to get because it has the bios update and can handle that CPU without a second thought. But shop around, you could find the same type of board for cheaper.
