Motherboard and Graphics Card Compatibility?

Question by Ryan: Motherboard and Graphics Card Compatibility?
I recently sought out on building my own computer for gaming. I know everything else is compatible but these two things. Can someone please help?! I don’t want to waste money!

MSI Z77A-G45 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Graphics Card: EVGA 01G-P3-1556-KR GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) FPB 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

If the two are not compatible can someone please point me in the direction of a different video card?
Thank you!

Totally! As soon as I saw LGA 1555, I already know that it will have PCI Express 2.0 x16 (which is required by the GPU).

Any modern motherboards WILL have PCI Express 2.0.

BUT keep in mind the power requirements. I suggest buying a 500W PSU from GOOD brands (Corsair is one). Buying from a cheap brand will hurt you in the long run (it will Over/Underload the parts of your computer)
