Gigabyte X79-UD5 BIOS and Overclocking Features

Go to www.technomicon.com for our full two part review of the Gigabyte X79-UD5 Main Board. In this video, we demo some of the features of the UEFI BIOS, including Gigabyte’s so called 3D BIOS, which is kind of an overlay to the normal UEFI BIOS. With UEFI, you get a mouse driven interface, much of which is reminiscent of Windows 3.0. We also demo overclocking to 4.375 GHz using a combination of increasing the base clock to 125 MHz and modifying the Turbo Mode maximum multiplier. We call this the “Sweet Spot” in overclocking because it imposes only a modest additional power drain at the wall plug and minimizes temperature rise of the processor
