    Yes, Unlike other things in a computer such as RAM an older Type of Pci Express on a graphics card is compatible with a newer type o PCI-Express on a motherboard the same way I can use a USB 2 stick in a usb 3 slot, its just not as good. Both use the same conection the only differance is that PCI Express 3.0 will become more important in the future now as Nvidia releases their GTX 6xx series,

    actually , i am sorry.That board does have the onboard video port you can run it without a discreet video card.
